Eureka Day at the Manhattan Theatre Club

It has a pretty, tiled fireplace in deep sea blue, adding a splash of colour and like the rest of the house, the room retains its original 1930s doors and picture rails. The front bedroom has the same view as the living room, taking in Crystal Palace Tower. The double-glazed French doors open onto the garden, perfect for summer entertaining and notably, there is a downstairs loo, which will come in handy with all this entertaining you’re going to be doing!
We need to bring a pair of binoculars for whale and dolphin watching next time. Comfortable and well equipped house, peaceful and restful. It was very difficult to leave that view at the end of the week. The property itself is comfy, warm, roomy, and has everything needed to feel at home. The view from The Focsle is breathtaking.
Having stayed at various apartments along Porthmeor I can say it’s probably the best. Porthmeor is a surfer’s paradise, ideal for beginners to advanced alike. We’re already looking forward to our next stay! You can’t get much closer to the beach than this! The Juliet Balcony of Focsle is just above the beach. Bedroom 2 has comfortable twin beds.

My third and final recommendation if you like a bit of cool music and Japanese food is the Notios Restaurant at the Almyra Hotel. The journey, whilst a bit bumpy, is absolutely worth it! You can only dine here at lunchtime and there is a set menu which is made up of barbeque, salad and the most incredible homemade chips ever! We went slightly off the beaten track to explore the quieter ones, and we were the only people there. We accidently came across a beautiful waterfall, the Caledonia Waterfall is a short 5km walk and just stunning and very refreshing too! So for four days we hired a jeep and got out to explore the island in more detail.
Our little girl adored her stay here and we will definitely be back! Spacious, light, cosy and well-equipped, it’s a joy to stay here. It was very comfortable and warm, which is what you want in November. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Focsle Down Under. Warm cosy and welcoming property, felt at home at once. Loved watching the seals every day and the surfers.
Liberals to a fault, Board members protested their own goodwill a bit too much—and took extreme care not to offend anyone inside or outside the room for any individualizable reason. Book a face-to-face valuation with one of our local property experts. Select your valuation type and property. The area is particularly sought after for its excellent schools, including Stewart Fleming (rated Outstanding), which is moments away; there’s also Churchfields and Marian Vian, making this location especially desirable for families and providing strong resale potential. Crystal Palace, under 1.5 miles away, is renowned for its independent boutiques, artisan sellers, vibrant restaurant scene, Everyman cinema, and Saturday farmers market at Haynes Lane.

Make yourself a pot of tea and sit in front of the beautiful views. Reserve your 2026 festive holiday for just £40! Or #microadventure being used as a catch-all online until the original purpose of the hashtag – to connect similar people looking for ideas and encouragement – is no longer possible. Maybe it’s a full moon walk up a hill without a torch, or cycling to the coast and sleeping in a bivvy bag. Microadventures mean different things and serve different purposes to different people at different times. Local microadventures are ideal, for example, but if you find yourself halfway round the world in Hong Kong or Hollywood then you can still apply the microadventure approach and explore there too.

Holidays in Porthmeor

Lovely apartment with fantastic views over Porthmeor beach from the lounge. Great location with wonderful view of the beach and sea. Please bear in mind that some facilities referred to by past guests in reviews can be removed or changed at any time. The array of restaurants, delis and artisan shops are all just a short walk from the property making it the perfect base to explore all the wonders St Ives has to offer.

  • To check you’ve got the number of layers just right, check their tummy as it’s a much better indicator than their hands.
  • From the visitors’ book it’s clear the same people come back again and again and no wonder!
  • The Juliet Balcony of Focsle is just above the beach.
  • Wonderful property, best location ever.
  • A comfortable and well equipped cottage.

I’m a fan of the Nait 50, as are a lot of people on this forum. As you say, you have many other good things to occupy your time. By biggest grip for valves for audio is the sensitivity (through normal physics) to RF – and as such often benefit from valve screening – which was used more and more in sensitive commercial valve circuitry in its time. Annoys me when people try to score solid state v valve points. He explained that this is the point when a mare is moved to one of the 11 camera-monitored boxes, allowing the team to keep a close eye on her during our round-the-clock foaling vigils at this time of year.

  • The NCT offer antenatal courses which are a great way to find out more about birth, labour and life with a new baby.
  • We are short of time, of money, of expertise, and more of us live in cities than wild landscapes.
  • We had a lovely holiday and have booked again for next year!
  • Make sure you check out the contents of the beach locker!

If your baby’s at the crawling stage, it can be wonderful to let them explore the snow for the first time. Rain covers for buggies and strollers are invaluable in winter – not only do they keep your baby nice and dry, but they also provide extra warmth. While walking is helping keep you warm, your baby isn’t getting the same benefit.
Focsle Down Under is a unique property with superb views from the sitting room over Porthmeor beach. We’ve stayed in St Ives many times in nice cottages but this one is special. The location to the town and beach couldn’t be better and the view is unbeatable, will definitely be booking again.
A really great location, and the house is comfortable and well equipped. This is such a lovely, warm and comfortable place to stay, in a fabulous location. We would love to stay again for future holidays. The Focsle is spacious and comfortable, and is guaranteed to provide a relaxing holiday for anyone. Perfect house in perfect location. Stunning views over the beach and the Island.

Porthmeor, St Ives

Other brands have used the idea too, without involving me – Berghaus and The North Face, to mention two. Some people do not like that and feel I have “sold out” (read “Madoc’s” rant against me in the comments here). It ended up making me money too – a nice and surprising bonus – through my Microadventures book, increased speaking work, and through working with brands on films like this. It has been so gratifying to see the idea spread. I Cutebit am amazed by the growth of microadventures. With microadventures I wanted everyone to feel involved.
Otherwise it’s easy to go round a few houses and into the beach. The cupboard with all the beach stuff in was great (you can use the ladders to get from the gate down to the beach which was about a 5ft drop!). We had a lovely holiday at The Focsle.
